Late 40s/Early 50s Fred Perlberg Red Tulle Dress with Dragonfly Appliques
Late 1940s/early 1950s red tulle dress with gold bead and sequin dragonfly appliques. Designed by Fred Perlberg.
Approximately a size XS.
Late 1940s or early 1950s red tulle evening dress with dull gold sequined and beaded dragonfly appliques on the bodice and skirt. It has a sweetheart bodice with boning, and gathered tulle straps. The wide waistband is gathered tulle as well. The skirt is full. The dress is fully lined in taffeta. It has a side zipper and hook and eye closure.
In really good condition, with no holes. There are a few faint, small (1/4" and smaller) dark spots on the tulle skirt. They were hard to capture in a photograph.
Designed by Fred Perlberg. This label is a 40s label, according the Label Resource on the Vintage Fashion Guild's website, but the dress is more of a 1950s style. The skirt is a little longer than other 50s ones, so it's probably on the cusp, around 1950 or 51.
Armpit to armpit: 16"
Bodice length: 16.5" with straps, 10" for the sweetheart lining and no straps
Overall length: 52.5" with straps
